The Buddhist pilgrimage tour would be the best voyage for those peoples who are interested to know about Buddhism and want to see good mountain views without getting high altitude. Kopan monastery – Kopan monastery is located just north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath which was established by the FPMT’s founders, Lamas Thubten Yeshe and Thubten Zopa Rimpoche, who bought the property from Nepal’s royal astrologer in 1969. Kapan monastery belongs to the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism, where 360 monks, teachers, and workers are living and practicing Buddhism. Kopan has become especially famous for teaching Buddhism to visit Western foreigners. The first of what would become annual month-long (November–December) meditation courses was held in 1971. These courses generally combine traditional Lam Rim teachings with informal discussion, several periods of guided meditation, and a vegetarian diet.

Pharping village – Pharping is a beautiful Newar village which is located 23 kilometers far from Kathmandu city. The Pharping village purpose to explore several monasteries, meditation retreat centers, green forest, agricultural terraced field, and as well as some mountain views.

Khokana village – Khokana village is located southern side of Kathmandu city which is one of the main habitations of the Newar people of Nepal. According to the Nepal census of 2011, there are 4258 peoples are living in 699 individual households. Khokana village purpose to explore several temples, holy Lakes, wood carving center, small markets, riverbanks, and possible to see Newar people’s unique houses and their culture, tradition, and costumes. Khokana village is famous for squeezing mustard oil and Newar people’s festivals.

Nagarkot – Nagarkot is one of the popular viewpoints of Nepal which is 32 kilometers far from Kathmandu valley and commands to see massif mountains views of Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Numbur, Langtang, Rolwaling and awesome view of the Kathmandu valley.

Bhaktapur durbar square – It is located 13 kilometers far from Kathmandu which is also known as the city of devotees and the city of temples. Bhaktapur durbar square is listed as world heritage sites by UNESCO and purpose to see several temples which are built-in pagoda and Shikhara style which are mostly dedicated to Hindu gods the major attraction of the town is 55 windows palace, Nyatapola temple, Dattatreya Temple, Bhairabnath temple, lion Gate, artistic windows, and potteries.

Tour Details

Day 01 – Arrival and escort to the hotel – we will pick you up from the Tribhuwan international airport in Kathmandu the escort you to hotel, the hotel would be in Thamel which is one of the touristic areas of Nepal. After getting into the hotel, your guide will talk over the tour, itinerary plan, and belonging topics.

Day 02 – Exploration of Kapan monastery and Boudhanath stupa – After breakfast, you will drive about 40 minutes to the Kapan monastery which is located top of the small hill that purposes to see beautiful landscapes, green forest, Kathmandu valley, and several stupas, Chhortens, monasteries around the hill. Kapan monastery is one of the beautiful and popular monasteries around the valley where hundreds of western people learning Buddhism. After the exploration of the Kapan monastery, you will walk about 45 minutes to get Baudhanath stupa to have your lunch. There are dozens of roof-top restaurants in the compound of the stupa that commands to see an awesome view of Baudhanath stupa. You will spend a joyful night at the hotel in Boudhanath.

Day 03 – Drive to Pharping village – You will have your breakfast in Baudhanath then you will drive about two hours to get Pharping village which a beautiful valley and habitations of Newar and Tamang people. There are several Buddhist monasteries and meditation retreat center. After the exploration of Pharping village, you will do hiking to the viewpoint that commands to see the beautiful view of Kathmandu valley and if the weather is clear then you will have splendid view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Gaurishankar mountain. You will spend a peaceful night in Pharping village with the warm hospitality of Newar people.

Day 04 – Drive back to Chobhar and hike to the Khokana village – you will drive about one hour to get Chobhar which is a beautiful place and offers to see paddy terraced field, small Lake, and some of the historical caves and a deep gorge called Chobhar gorge. All of the water of Kathmandu valley drain from that gorge. From here, you will walk about two hours to get Khokana village and you will explore several temples and unique town of Newar people and spend a night in Khokana village.

Day 05 – Drive to Changunarayan and hike up to Nagarkot – After delicious Newari breakfast, you will drive to Changunarayan temple which may take about two hours drive depending on traffic jams then you will walk about three hours to get Nagarkot village. Along the trail, you will see rural life of Tamang people, their lifestyle, terraced field, green hills awesome view of Gaurishankar mountain. After three hours walk from the Changunarayan, you will be in Nagarkot which will make you very happy because of its beauty and mountain views.

Day 06 – Hike up to the viewpoint and drive back to Bhaktapur – Early in the morning, you will drive for 15 minutes to go Nagarkot viewpoint that offers you to see the beautiful view of Kathmandu valley, Mount Everest, Numbur Himal, Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri Himal. After breakfast, you will drive about two hours to get Bhaktapur where you will see several temples, mostly dedicated to Hindu gods and goddesses.

Day 07 – Drive to Tribhuwan international airport and fly back to home – After a successful and memorial trip of Nepal, you will fly back to your home with a great experience of a different culture, traditions, and costumes that make you a storyteller among your friend and relatives.

 

Note – This tour is possible to do throughout the year due to located in low elevation although bellows months are considered the best season or time because of the weather condition.

Autumn season is considered as the best season to do trekkings or tours in Nepal because Autumn season purpose to see clear mountain views even without any dots of clouds, won’t be any landslides or obstructions on the trail or on the road so if someone is planning to visit Nepal in Autumn season then middle of the September to middle of the December is the best season to explore all touristic area of Nepal.

Spring season is the second-best season to come to Nepal to do trek or tour because the temperature will be malt, the morning commands to see clear mountain views but good to know that the afternoon will be a little bit cloudy. If someone is planning to come in the Spring season then the mid of February to the end of April is the second-best time to explore all of the trek and tours in Nepal. Another benefit of the Spring season is to see many kinds of blooming flowers especially rhododendron, orchids, magnolia, and wild rose.

 

Itinerary plan – The given itinerary plan is flexible so it is possible to customize according to traveler’s time frame and desire.

Transportation – The Buddhist pilgrimage tour route is located in low altitude and every place is connected with motor road so travelers may use public buses to go one place to another place although public transportation would be the crowd and takes longer time so we provide a private vehicle for our clients to safe time and joyful journey.

Food – Most of the time, you will be sleeping at the hotel so we provide all kinds of dishes like western foods, Chinese foods, Indian foods, continentals, and especially Nepali and Newari meals known as Dall Bhat which is rice with lentil soup, vegetables curry and typical pickles. Please keep in mind most dishes are vegetarian.

Water –Mineral water is available every town or shop so no need to carry a water treatment system for this tour.

One can get fairly excited about a trip to a previously unknown location.
